Actually, Mr. DuPreist, Spyware doctor will quarentine any really nasty viruses that it finds. It is not particularly hard. I came across an extremely nasty virus called System tool, which had somehow invaded the computer. To remove these viruses, do what you have done in safe mode, but then go into "settings" and find the Quarentine option. Then select the Viruses that you want to remove, and click remove. after some time, you should not have to worry about that virus anymore, however, it would be best to run another scan in safe mode to see what it comes up with, then scan again in regular mode. If the problem persists, then I really can't help you.

This info is not accurate.
#1. Not even mentioned is that in Regular Mode Spyware Doctor will not remove the virus, only quarentine it which is apparently why it is suggested that Safe Mode is used. That is an oversight that should be corrected in my opinion.

#2. In Safe Mode / Spyware Doctor again you do not mention that the user should ignore the warning from Spyware Dr. that “running in safe mode is not recommended but that they return to regular mode.” You should mention this.

#3. Spyware Dr. did not offer the option To Remove as stated and shown in the video, instead Quarantined was only offered. Of course I had no choice but to use it. Spyware Dr. reported 3 infections were REMOVED. This is not the truth, removal is not the same as Quarantined. Had they been REMOVED than they would not appear again upon the very next boot-up in regular START-UP assuming the same configuration (ie. no peripheral HD or memory plugged in).

#4 Full-Scan is run and finds Backdoor.Radmin!ct

Without removing the virus one must go through this process each and every time they boot up. Furthermore, if the virus is only quarantined what difference does it make if you do this in SAFE MODE or Regular Mode? None that I can see. This is a waste of time with Spyware Dr and Trojans BHO.AJ & Backdoor.Radmin!ct

Hi Tony,

I use and recommend Spyware Doctor for removing threats like the W32.ackantta.b@mm trojan. Spyware Doctor can be used for free as a malware scanner, and it charges a reasonable fee to remove malware from your computer.

The thing that I like best about using Spyware Doctor is that once on your PC, it will effectively defend your computer from future malware infection. What that means is that you're not really paying to remove the malware you've already got -- you're also protecting your PC, identity and personal information from attacks that haven't even occurred yet... and you'll be able to testify to exactly how easy it is to be infected with malware!

I consider Spyware Doctor to be one of the single best investments on my computer. You really can't afford not to have a reputable anti-malware solution on your PC.

If you have any other questions, please let me know.

Hi John,

One of the functions of some trojan threats is to prevent other pieces of software (like spyware doctor) from running. In these instances, you'll need to start your computer in safe mode to disable the autorun feature of the malware. Follow these instructions to re-run the scan and remove the threat permanently from your PC:

1) Shutdown your PC and wait until your computer powers off.
2) Wait 30 seconds, then restart your computer
3) As soon as the computer starts booting up, press the F8 key repeatedly
4) Select 'Safe Mode' from the Windows Advanced Boot Options Menu
5) Once Windows boots succesfully, start Spyware Doctor and rerun the scan.

Let me know how you go.

Cheers,
Chris B
