Malware Removal Instructions

July 20th, 2009

Now that your computer has Malware, it’s time to get rid of it for good!

This guide works for all known types of malware (including spyware, adware, trojans, viruses and rootkits), and you’ll have the peace of mind of being malware free in less than ten minutes time.

I’ve also included a 5-minute video tutorial showing you exactly what you need to do — and how easy it is — to remove malware from your computer:

.

five-steps-to3

Step One: Prepare Your PC For Malware Removal.

The first step is to prepare your computer for malware removal. You’ll need to close your windows programs and print these instructions so that you can refer to them later on.

1. Close all open windows except for this browser window.

step1-1

.

Step Two: Download a Malware Removal Tool.

To remove the malware from your PC you’ll need to choose your preferred removal tool. We use and recommend two exceptional malware removal tools: Spyware Doctor and Spyzooka. You’ll be able to download either for free from this page.

So why the choice? While both of these tools will completely remove all known malware threats and protect your PC from future infection, different computer users will get better value depending on their preferences and how they use their PC.

Spyware Doctor is the best choice for people wanting malware protection on more than one computer and who would prefer to purchase the software outright in one payment.

Spyzooka, on the other hand, provides better value for people that only need malware protection for one computer and would prefer to pay for the software on a less expensive annual subscription basis.

Spyware Doctor is the best choice for people with multiple computers and are looking for a once off fee to purchase the industry leading malware removal tool.

Spyzooka is the best value choice for people with only one computer and prefer a less expensive, but still fully featured malware removal tool.

Step Three: Install the Malware Removal Tool

1. Once you have finished the setup download, locate the .exe file:

- sdsetup.exe for Spyware Doctor

- spyzookasetup.exe for Spyzooka

2. Double click the file and launch the Install wizard (these images show the process for Spyware Doctor):

Step Four: Restart Your PC in Safe Mode

Many malware threats include programs that block anti-malware tools like Spyware Doctor and Spyzooka from removing malware infections. To avoid this, it is important to restart you PC in Safe Mode.

It’s also a good idea to print or write these instructions down so that you can refer to them while your computer is restarting.

1) Save your work and shutdown your PC.

2) Once your computer has powered off, wait 30 seconds before restarting your computer.

3) As soon as your computer starts to load, start tapping the F8 key repeatedly (you have to be quick!)

4) The Windows Advanced Boot Options menu will open.

5) Select ‘Safe Mode’ from the menu:

safe mode

.

    This info is not accurate.
#1. Not even mentioned is that in Regular Mode Spyware Doctor will not remove the virus, only quarentine it which is apparently why it is suggested that Safe Mode is used. That is an oversight that should be corrected in my opinion.

#2. In Safe Mode / Spyware Doctor again you do not mention that the user should ignore the warning from Spyware Dr. that “running in safe mode is not recommended but that they return to regular mode.” You should mention this.

#3. Spyware Dr. did not offer the option To Remove as stated and shown in the video, instead Quarantined was only offered. Of course I had no choice but to use it. Spyware Dr. reported 3 infections were REMOVED. This is not the truth, removal is not the same as Quarantined. Had they been REMOVED than they would not appear again upon the very next boot-up in regular START-UP assuming the same configuration (ie. no peripheral HD or memory plugged in).

    #4 Full-Scan is run and finds Backdoor.Radmin!ct

Without removing the virus one must go through this process each and every time they boot up. Furthermore, if the virus is only quarantined what difference does it make if you do this in SAFE MODE or Regular Mode? None that I can see. This is a waste of time with Spyware Dr and Trojans BHO.AJ & Backdoor.Radmin!ct

Actually, Mr. DuPreist, Spyware doctor will quarentine any really nasty viruses that it finds. It is not particularly hard. I came across an extremely nasty virus called System tool, which had somehow invaded the computer. To remove these viruses, do what you have done in safe mode, but then go into “settings” and find the Quarentine option. Then select the Viruses that you want to remove, and click remove. after some time, you should not have to worry about that virus anymore, however, it would be best to run another scan in safe mode to see what it comes up with, then scan again in regular mode. If the problem persists, then I really can’t help you.
