Additional Removal Instructions
Are you having problems removing a malware threat?
If you are having problems removing a specific malware threat from your computer, it is likely that the infection is running a script that disables the ‘good guy’ programs on your computer, like your anti-malware scanner and your anti-virus programs… making it more difficult to remove the threat.
To remove a malware threat that is blocking your defense programs, you’ll need to start your computer in Safe Mode. This is a stripped down version of Windows that does not allow the ‘autorun’ componenet of programs to start — and this is most likely the reason why you are having problems removing the threat.
It’s a good idea to print these instructions now, so that you can refer to them as you reboot your computer:
1) Save your work and shutdown your PC.
2) Once your computer has powered off, wait 30 seconds before restarting your computer.
3) As soon as your computer starts to load, start tapping the F8 key repeatedly (you have to be quick!)
4) The Windows Advanced Boot Options menu will open.
5) Select ‘Safe Mode’ from the menu.
6) Once Windows has rebooted, open your anti-malware scanner (e.g. Spyware Doctor) and rerun the scan, and fix any presenting errors.
